Dr. Duran Duran wrote:I just celebrated my one year wedding anniversary this past weekend. The day of, I turned to my wife and joked that we'd already lasted longer than the average Hollywood marriage. As much as I was joking, it's a bit of a scary thought. In this day, people just don't take marriage seriously anymore. Nice to see some people still consider it a lifelong union.

Congrats DDD on the 1yr anniv. celebration!

It's a real shame this sacred union is not taken as seriously as it is dictated. Even though my wife and I have had our rough spots, it's been the best 11 years of my life thus far.

Its actually pretty baffling to think of how long 80 years would be with the same spouse. I can't even imagine what the world will be like in 80 years.

Me and the wife we outside enjoying the weather the other day and saw an older couple down the street, in their 60s probably, playing basketball. That's awesome.

This is certainly an encouraging story, and I'm glad that it is being shared with the public.

However, I was disgusted that the article featured a cheap shot at President Bush. That kind of ruined the story for me, as it caused me to look at the couple in a different manner.

After rereading the article, I realized an age old question has been answered. I now know where Waldo is. :-b

I wouldn't 'credit' that to the couple, but the writer. I thought it was pretty tacky myself. To include politics into a story about marital bliss and longevity.
