I suppose that you could scorn the writer for including the couple's political views in the story. You could also blame him for bringing up the subject in the first place. Regardless, one thing is apparent, he let his political bias get into the story. When he quoted the old woman's opinion of President Bush, he followed it by saying something to the extent of, "she said with a twinkle in her eye."
However, though the writer may partially be at fault for this inappropriate addition to the article, the woman can be abhorred for stating her opinion in such a crude and disrespectful manner.

I'm sure the reporter asked her for her opinion and we at the Cafe know if you ask for someone's opinion regarding politics you're going to get it. I appreciate that he left the four-letter words out of the article.
