Calls to tournament officials were not immediately returned Friday.

West Virginia coach John Beilein also could not be reached for comment. He and the team were on their way back to West Virginia on Friday after winning their first NIT title in 65 years.

Gotta love a tournament that celebrates the 66th best team in college basketball. Literally one of the most ridiculous ideas I've ever heard of. Ever more insane is the idea that people actually participate in NIT pools. Yeah. People actually do take part in NIT pools. Heard some fool on the radio a few days ago talk about how stoked he was that he might win his NIT pool. The radio host nearly laughed himself to tears. I almost had to pull over.
