My new dog

[Dan Lambskin]

meet Barney, the latest addition to the Lambskin family. we adopted him from a local pound last night, not entirely sure what's in him...they listed him as a Hound mix. i'm thinking Beagle/Boxer but hopefully the vet can give us an idea at his checkup today. some people suggested Pit as well because of his stature and brindle coloring, but with the white paws i say Boxer and hound.

we think he's between 6 mos and a year and he's been a very good dog so far, very active and playful and smart

yeah nice dog! I especially love that you adopted him instead of getting a puppy, no offense to those who get puppies... I just feel there are a lot of good dogs like barney that need homes... looks like a very fun dog...

I'd say he has a some Pit in him, if you cover his long snout and imagine him with smaller ears he looks exactly like a Pitty. The brindle coloring is a good hint as well as his stature, in the photo he appears pretty squared off, another good sign.

Good eye joel, a large tongue is another Pit trait. Boxers tend to have a large tongue as well but with such a long nose and being so low to the ground I doubt he has much if any boxer in him. He really looks more Pit than anything to me.
