Also the lighting by his face looks bad. you should add a gaussian blur to it and maybe add some color to it.
I was following a tutorial, and it called for lighting using a round brush with low opacity. I used a bunch of applied images though, so I would have to start all over if I wanted to fix it. Yeah, I tryed to fix the lighting around his face, but I just didn't feel like starting over to fix it.
It looked a lot better on the sig in the tutorial.

Oh, and even when you are applying images, it is helpful to keep the lighting somewhat seperate unless you are positive it is the way you like it so that you can go back and play with it. I usually keep my lighting editable just in case.

Yeah, I got from a gaming graphics site, called gamerenders.com, maybe you've heard of it. I'll PM it to you since I actually bought it with credits that you get for posting at the site, and I think I'd get banned if I somehow got caught spreading the tutorial to other people.
I kinda of like this one. I have a few techniques for spatter brushes that you may like. If I have the opportunity this weekend I'll try to post them here.

Please do. I have the hardest time getting the right setting for a spatter brush or spatter smudge tool.
