Something else to keep in mind, I doubt the police agency had to pay the full sticker price for one of these cars, if they even paid any money at all. It's easy to notice that the country that uses a certain car also has that car manufactured in said country.

I actually think that these High Performance vehicles will only encourage the Cops to chase suspects even more. Thus causing more innocent fatalities.

As opposed to not chasing down suspects and leading to more people getting away? I dont see how you find cops being more ably equipped to chase down fleeing suspects a bad thing?

From what I could gather from a few different articles, the Dutch one is mainly for PR, the German one is used and in fact there is a newer redesigned version that has over 700 hp - the Italians use there theirs for both PR and actual police work (and it's also for organ transport for transplants).
