ok, draft day 1 i thought seattle blew up again like always, they take a cornerback????? and the guy they picked has only 2 career interceptions????? we're stacked at cornerback, another D+ for draft day 1 for the seahawks.
now we trade darrell jackson for only a 4th rounder to our top division rival to make them better????? we just gave a 1st rounder for branch, who hasnt had a 1,000 yard season. A 4th rounder is a SLAP IN THE FACE. We are saying Deion branch is 4 times better than darrell jackson, who statistically when he plays has more yards, receptions and td % per game than steve smith did in his blowup year in 2005.
This has ruined my day, PUT DOWN THE CRACK PIPE SEATTLE!!!!

although i don't love the pick, the guy is small 5'10" (i think), runs a 5.39 40-yard, i think he is moreof a kick return specialist more than anything else

yea and we just paid 36 mill for a kick returner(guy in my sig) and he has high promise, your telling me they are gonig to remove burleson from PR and KR? did u see burleson tear it up at the end of last year, he was bringing it back to the 40 everytime
Im pretty pleased with Josh Wilson perfectly. Hes got huge potential at CB and is a very talented player. Also, I think that Nate should and will continue to have K/P return duties, but Id expect the Hawks to use Wilson as a backup and also as a means of returning kicks to allow Nate to play more at WR eventually.
Im actually very happy with all of the Hawks picks this year. They have some solid guys from the first few rounds, and they probably got 2 of the top 5 players taken in the 6th round with 2 VERY underrated WR's in Taylor (A very solid pick who can basically be counted on to be a WR4 or 5 but nothing more any time soon) and a HUGE upside guy in Jordan Kent (If anyone this year is gonna recreate what Colston was able to do last year, its gonna be Kent). It is a shame to see DJax go though, I just hope that the Hawks wont be hurt too much in his absence. (Optimally Id like to think Branch can recreate DJax's numbers to go along with more reliability, but realistically that probably wont happen)
I felt the same as you Alk when I was reading about this small corner we drafted. Then I heard he was targeted for KR duty. Then I'm thinking what about Nate? The Djax news flys that he went for a 4th rounder. I'm thinking, again like Alk, these guys are on crack. Then I hear DJax wanted out of Seattle. So hear is my take.
Seattle knew DJax wanted out of Seattle. They set up a trade with SF. But they now need someone to replace him in the lineup, so they decide it's Nate and now we have to draft a KR so he can concentrate as being a WR. Therefore the small speedy CB.
I just hope this small CB can be the next Devon Hester.

The problem with this logic is that no matter how much DJack wants out of Seattle, he's still Hasselbeck's favorite target, and they still traded him to a DIVISIONAL OPPONENT. Unless they know something about his many injuries that the 49ers don't, this is going to come back to bite us.
Second, Burleson was awful as a WR last year. His butter fingers and bad route running brought back memories of Koren Robinson. The only thing he was good at was punt returns... seemed like a natural fit.
Third, while I'm glad Jerramy Stevens is gone, the 'Hawks front office has hardly done a good job replacing him. For better or worse, Hass liked to target DJack and Stevens and this year will have neither target.

Don't get me wrong, I was not talking nicely about all this. I just can understand where the front office was going. They all link together to make one BIG mistake. I hope Branch is equal to DJax or we are screwed. I would not have traded him for a fourth round pick. I would have waited for a much higher draft pick or a quality player in return.

The only thing about the DJAX trade that i could understand was that he got into it with the front office(which has been a rumour ongoing) and that he would be gone after this year no matter what, so the Hawk's figured they should take their chances and get a 4th rounder for him now, instead of losing him after the season and get nothing.....i just dont understand why trade him for a divisional opponent.
that cornerback pick i still dont like, he's only 5' 9" and has 2 interceptions in 4 years? we're stacked at CB, i guess the Hawk's want to play a lot of nickel and dime this year.....but i'll tell ya right now, 1 and 1 that guy is in trouble, plaxico burress wont even have to jump, he can just grab the ball above that guys head without jumping.

With two interceptions in what 11 or 12 games last year in college, prorate that over a sixteen weeks season and he would lead the Hawks in INTs.
