You could think of government workers like teenagers. You pay them an allowance, but do you get any work out them? They eat the food, put their feet on the furniture and complain loudly whenever they are unhappy.
And that's tap water. Bottled water is a complete rip off.
You wouldn't say that if you lived where I do.
Purified is only like a buck for 5 gallons and its well worth it cause the tap is awful.
Yeah if you live in a place where the tap is really bad (which in America its usually fine except for a few places like you live, but mostly in other countries), then I can understand wanting bottled water. Or in your case a purifier thats cost effective, that's a good idea
But its these people that waste thousands of dollars on bottled water because they've been brainwashed to think that tap water is unsafe and bottled water is more clean and pure that I find ridiculous. I just finished writing an article for my school paper about the very subject, because I have always thought bottled water was ridiculous. I conducted a taste test in the halls of my school- 4 cups with Dasani in one, Ice Mountain in the other, and tap water in the 2 remaining. 7 out of 76 people got it all right. Almost 40 out of 76 didn't even get 2 right.
