What's the deal with Stallworth ?

Postby xbird » Fri Oct 17, 2003 3:05 pm

Has/will Pathon moved ahead of him. Is he slowed by his hammy
or is Brooks erratic play hurting him. Whatever, he sucks so far.
Really appriciate some insight from Saints fans.

The Saints receivers are having a hard time hanging onto the ball this year and it’s a problem that’s difficult to solve. "It's not an inordinate number of drops, but they seem to be coming at inopportune times," offensive coordinator Mike McCarthy told the Times Picayune. "The bottom line in our business is, when you're 2-4, everything becomes magnified." Saints tight end Ernie Conwell and wide receiver Donté Stallworth freely admit they have dropped more passes than at any other time during their college and professional careers. "I'm a psychology major, so you try not to think about it," Stallworth said. "Once you keep thinking about it, it's in your mind on the next play. And, if you drop that one, it'll be on your mind for the next one. So you got to put it behind you. I know you can't catch every pass, but, at the same time, you don't want to drop every damn pass either."

Stallworth should start thinking about the repercussions of all his dropped balls because he has allowed Jerome Pathon to gain back his No. 2 receiver role at least temporarily. Nothing cures a bad case of the dropsies like playing against Atlanta, however, so give Donte’ at least another couple weeks before you do anything rash like dump him off your roster.

At least Donte isn't ducking the fact that he has dropped too many passes. I look for a big game from him with 120 yards returning kicks and 80 yards and a TD receiving. Bye week desperatin makes me say that!

Wait a minute...what was I gonna say.

Crap I forgot what we were talking about...

h/o....

......
Ahhh yes, Dante Stallworth. Unfortunately, his QB is among the league worst right now - I know he's droppin passes, but I wouldn't blame him entirely. Brooks is just sucking horribly - and does so with a smile....a sick, sedastic smile.... :-t
