Is Vernon Davis a top TE this year? He showed promise last year if it weren't for him breaking his leg in half. Towards the end of the season he even had a few touchdowns if I remember. I think the 49rs are going to do a good job with their offense this year and vernon could be a focus of that.

Depends on Alex Smith and how that offense is without Norv Turner or any credible #1 WR. He's got all the talent and ability necessary, but I don't see him breaking into the top 5, top 10 I can see. Maybe by the following year he can break into the top 5.

I will gladly have VD on my team this year. He is a true weapon on a team that is on the rise. Given that he will be healthy this year and have had time to work with Smith and the offense for a 2nd time now he should be much more productive. Remember that Gates came out of nowhere to have a monster year his 2nd year. I expect Davis to make giant strides this year. Great pick in the 6th round, if by draft time he even lasts that long.

I like him too, I would be glad to have him on my roster. I tend to get my TE's later in the draft, and I think in most redrafts he should still be there by round 9 or 10. Gates, Gonzo, Heap, Shockey, Watson, Crumpler, & Winslow probably will all be drafted before him, leaving him there for me later.

He's a guy I'd be glad to get at good value. I wouldn't take him ahead of the top 7 or 8 guys, but I'd be satisfied skipping on those guys and taking VD in a later round. The problem I think is that a lot of people are thinking that way and come draft day, someone is going to get all stressed out about it and take him too early. So I doubt I'll get my hands on him.

I'll probably be stuck with Ben Watson again...because that worked so well for me last year... ;-7

I like Davis, but I have trouble rating him higher than tier 2... he's near the lower end of the 2nd tier... In a dynasty or deep keeper he gets a bump... but this year will be very telling for him... needs to be productive and stay healthy...

Didn't they just get D. Jax from Seattle?

I think that Davis is going to be very productive this year. I'm definately going to look for him to be on my squad.
A win next week and all is forgotten.

Yes. 49ers have 3 good weapons now in Jackson, Gore, and Davis.

I don't know about Davis, I think he is a excellent athlete but I think that Norv runs a pretty good offensive system.....w/o him I'm not too sure about Davis this year....

Turner was never a guy to get a TE alot of catches. He's more of a guy that would bump the RBs stock up.
So they weren't the best...and may have ended the worst. SO WHAT!
