LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A former Louisville priest convicted of rape was sentenced to five years on probation Thursday.
In March, Bruce Ewing was on trial for raping and sodomizing a teenage girl while he was a priest at St. Vincent Depaul in the mid-seventies.
A jury found Ewing guilty of one charge of rape, but acquitted him on two counts of sodomy.
The prosecution asked for a 3-year prison sentence for Ewing and the victim said she was disappointed.
He could receive 3 years in prison or a 5-year probated sentence.

Something has to be changed with these cases. There has got to be a set amount of minimum time for trash like this. Obviously leaving it up to these stupid judges isn't working. I mean, who lets a guy, I don't care his damn profession, out free after doing such a horrible thing? Again, if a guy is capable of this act he should not be walking the streets with other potential victims.
