Serpentine?

If the serpentine style was clearly stated in the rules last season then this discussion is a moot point....I couldn't find anything where it had already been established though...I could be completely wrong...

As far as the previous trading of draft picks goes, I don't see how that matters if the exact value of the picks wasn't known until now....If I'm reading them right (and please correct me if I'm not), trades were "Player X for Player Y and this teams #1 pick next year", etc....So it wasn't known at the time if that #1 pick would be pick 1.01 or pick 1.10 or anywhere inbetween....Sorry Swipe, I just don't see the case there :-/

I'll be fine with whatever order is decided upon, but I just really believe that the standard style benefits the league by giving the best chance at parity and prevents stagnance....Go and check out the classifieds for "Dynasty owners needed" and check out those sorry teams looking for owners....Non-parity is the #1 killer for dynasty leagues...A team isn't going to drop out if they're loaded, but if they see they're fighting a losing battle, bowing out may be a more tempting option...

Think about it: The Raiders (a low talent team) get pick 1.01 and 2.32 and the Patriots (a high talent team) get 1.32 and 2.01...How long is it going to take before the teams balance out talent-wise, if ever, at that rate barring free agency?

I'd really like to hear the commishes weigh in on this...Like I said, if the serpentine style was previously established and agreed upon, then I will shut my trap and go with it, but as it is, I think it's at least worthy of discussion....Just trying to look out for the benefit of the league fellas O:-) ;-)

I was satisfactorily led to believe at the time about the draft positions and how they would be. I would be more apt to make trade like that knowing I may be picking earlier in the 2nd than later (in my mind can still be viewed as a late first rd pick). In my thought process I was looking at having a first rd pick in the second half of the first rd. Not sure which spot exactly, but most owners are able to tell how their teams stack up in the league and if they will be competitive or not.

I just don't think it's fair to anyone changing rules in a dynasty after the draft. It changes the integrity of picks that were made, logic, strategies, all of it.

Regardless as it looks, that would be the same logic I would be using even if it didn't change my draft position.

Okay guys, I'll weigh in briefly:

I don't see where the trades already made (involving Swipe, Dream and SeaWolf) are adversely affected by the proposed rookie draft style. Serpentine or NFL style was never decided in the inital setup of the league. Now, MSB and I will eat that as our fault for not having this parameter decided prior to the inital draft.

I know the question of "Can we change from serpentine to NFL style?" will be asked and the answer is - yes it can be changed. However, MSB and I will need to meet to discuss the arguments made (all of which are good cases) and any affect this would have on the three trades I was able to find.

I'm not going to guarantee anyone this will be changed from serpentine to NFL style and no assumptions on such should be made. But I will meet with MSB to talk about this further.

Fair enough?

Just so everyone knows, I have not forgotten about this. My week got a little out of hand and I just sent MSB a PM today. My apologies to you all.

I will not open the Round 1 thread until I've had a chance to communicate with MSB regarding this issue. Once I have and we've reached a conclusion on the draft style we'll go with and why, I'll open the thread and PM dream to let him know he can make his pick.

So what's the status of this, now that the draft is underway?
