Absolutely chilling. For those of you that have read 1984 (which is probably almost everyone here), this video is so similar to what Orwell talks about it's terrifying. All these people in North Korea worship "their great leader," as they call Kim Jong Il, and they have been completely brainwashed to think that he can do no wrong. He is literally treated the exact same as Big Brother was in the book- people have pictures of him on their wall, they bow down to him, they act as if he is a god... the only difference is their lives aren't monitored in North Korea, but other than that, Kim Jong Il has complete control over everyone. If you do anything that they would consider criticizing the government in North Korea, you and your entire extended family is sent to a concentration camp where you are not even close to being treated as a human.
Really interesting and chilling video, very disturbing as well.

Not very accurate. BB is all over propaganda posters and such but he's never treated as a god in 1984 (mostly because he doesn't actually exist in the book--he's a concept).
VaderFin, the DPRK isn't a Communist state. It's a garden-variety dictatorship that's 'officially' Communist.

Has there ever been a Communist state that didn't immediately turn into a dictatorship?
There has never been a real Communist state as Marx envisioned it. You're right in that Cuba, DPRK, USSR, etc. were all pretty much dictatorships. I'm don't think that the concept of Communism is by any means evil or to blame, though.

You're exactly right, the true ideal of communist is to share everything with everybody, which, in concept, is a good idea.
In reality, greed and hunger for power get in the way, so it never works.
That's why the good guys won the cold war.

In 1984 they alter the past to make it appear as though they had been correct when they made mistakes, and they are constantly monitored and are basically tortured for fostering any independant thought.
I doubt that we will see that in our lifetimes.
