if its a hard food (candy.. etc) i am more inclined to pick it up and eat that than something moist (pizza, fruit...etc) that will collect dirt and poo particles when it lands on the ground. ive found candy in the front room of my place on the floor, that had been there for who knows how long, and have pounded it down.

the main factor will be the location where i drop it. if its a public place...forget about it.
