You may also want to look at the trend to auction vs. snake draft. I know of a lot of leagues moving to $$ format to give a fair start to all teams.

Like the above poster, played it once and didn't like it. More stuff to keep up with on gameday and you don't see def player stats scrolling across the bottom of the screen.

How long have you been playing non-idp?

and

What made you decide to try it this year?

Been playing fantasy football seriously for about 2-3 years now, mostly redraft leagues. Now that I've been doing it for a while, I figure I'd try something new. I like the defensive side of football anyways, so it should be interesting. And I hope I don't screw up too badly this year.

I play IDPs as often as I can and I love it personally. It really ends up giving you a better knowledge of more of the NFL players when you're forced to look into defensive players as well as the normal offensive players and just brings a different aspect to the game. I think if people would give it more of a chance and try it for a while I think more people would like it than they do.

It does take some work and research to learn about them but I would personally be happy to give anyone a crash course in IDPs if they wanted to learn more about them. ;-D

I did once, and didn't like it, so I steer clear of it now.

I played one IDP league last year, and I'm doing another one this year, but I'm still no expert. I think it's good to learn about more players than just on the offensive side of the ball. After a few years, I'm sure I'll have the hang of it.

I agree with Matt. Without IDP's is like TV when it was black and white and TV's had knobs. But then again, most of you guys don't remember that.
