Isn't his knee basically just bone on bone?

Anyways, he's had a good career. He had a good run piling up over 14,000 yards. Started every game for 6 years. 90 TDs. Not HOF, but a good career. Give up Curtis while you can still walk! He's 34, he's made a ton of money. What else is there to prove? That he can still play? That's just silly.

- 3rd all time in rushes (3518). Think of it this way - 351 carries in a season is a true workhorse. He has 10 times that amount!
- 5-time pro bowler, the first and last times being 9 years apart
- 4th all time in rushing yards (14,101)
- 7th all time in yards from scrimmage (17,430)
-12th all time in rushing TD's (90)
- Top 10 in rushing yards in 7 seasons
- Top 10 in yards from scrimmage in 8 seasons
- Top 10 in rushing TD's in 6 seasons
- Averaged 44 catches in 11 seasons (484 total)

A great player, and no one questions him as a person. Why WOULDN'T he go to the hall?

I agree. Although, when is he eligible? He hasn't officially retired, so is it 5 years from your official retirement or is it retroactive to when you last played? The sooner he is eligible, the fewer of these latest generation backs with inflated stats will diminish his accomplishments.

No worries. The only active players within even 4,000 yards of him are:
Dillon - 2860 behind, and probably gonna retire
Edge - 3716 behind, should have a few seasons left, may challenge him, hall-worthy

I don't know when eligibility starts, but the only players with a real shot at passing his stats in the next 5 years are Edge and LT (SA is 5,388 behind, and I doubt he has even left to reach him).

Curtis is definetly a HOF running back. His eligible for the HOF I believe 5 years after he retires.

He may try, but he's not going to make any kind of significant contribution if he does come back. His knee is bone on bone, so it's not going to get any better. If he couldn't play on it last season, there's no way he is going to play on it this season - or the next, or the next...

I remember almost the identical same story with the identical same statement last preseason. I sincerely doubt this happens.
