06/03 Bengals: Perry has inside track as 3rd WR
Source: Fanball
Tab Perry has the inside track on the Bengals third receiver job, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. "He is working very hard to get back to where he was last season, which is a big chunk of our offense, and production and carrying the football, and all the things he adds to special teams," coach Marvin Lewis said. "He was going to be a big part of what we were going to do last year on offense."
Our View
That's before Perry injured his hip and missed most of the season. With Chris Henry suspended for the first half of the season, Perry will have a chance to establish himself in the Bengals' offense.
I like Tab a lot, but Henry is head over heals better than him, but in the slot Tab should excel greatly. Tab's only competition is Antonio Chatman I believe.
I agree, I've been stating it as well...Tab is worth a late round flyer (Him and Chatman should share most return duty). Worst case scenario is he sucks and you drop him for who ever is hot on the WW.
I'm not a huge Bengals fan but this is one of the situations I've tried to stay up on. Thanks for the update. The 3rd WR in Cincy is a good option as a late round flier with bye week fill in potential. And if CJ or TJ have any injury problems, then Perry could put up decent fantasy numbers.
My starting WRs in one auction league consist of Santonio Holmes, Devery Henderson, and Tab Perry at this point.
(That's because I decided to experiment and blow all of my money on LT, LJ, and Brees... )
I think he'll win the WR3 job and will be good for around 750 yards 4-6 TDs until Henry gets back. At that point his status will be questionable, but if he proves to be a solid player I don't think he'll be benched in favor of Henry mid-season.

The Bengals will need a third receiver to emerge with Chris Henry on suspension, and I believe Tab Perry will overtake the other options on the current roster to fill that slot. He's 6-foot-3 and could be used as a deep ball threat for Carson Palmer, particularly with the attention afforded to T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson. Perry caught five balls for 81 yards last season.
