06/07 Cowboys: Rivera released
Source: Fanball
The Cowboys released veteran guard Marco Rivera on Thursday. The 35-year-old Rivera underwent surgery in February to repair a herniated disc in his back, and the operation (his second in as many years) may force him to retire, the team's official web site confirms. The three-time Pro Bowl lineman spent his first 10 seasons with the Packers and the last two years with the Cowboys.
Our View
The Cowboys knew this move was coming, which is why they signed Leonard Davis to a monster contract in March. Packer fans will remember Rivera much more fondly than Cowboy backers, but he was a darn good guard from about 1999-04.
