Gotta go for week 16 here as well. If your superbowl is week 17, I can see the argument that you know it's coming and should prepare for it; but I think having it week 16 allows you to play the big game with the guys that got you there.
I prefer week 17 just because its an extra week to play, and with the way our league sched is set up, it works out symetrically. I understand the week 16 arguement, but with the advent of 4 divisions instead of 3 in the NFL, I think that has been minimized a bit. It seems that there are more teams in the hunt at the end of the year than there used to be.
Week 16. The NFL always has one team that surprises you, so planning ahead is not always going to work. I can understand not drafting Peyton Manning b/c he will likely be sitting week 17, but who would have guessed the Chargers last year would go 14-2 and sit people the last game. Fantasy football is a game of a lot of luck anyway, why make the championship depend more on luck of hoping your stud's team is in the playoff hunt than the guys that got both of you there.
I'm not losing my league championship based on how good a players NFL team is doing...thats basically the reversal of what gets me my wins in the regualr season...and so not being able to count on players who got your team to the position it is in, makes zero sense.
