A cool draft order.

We have always drafted players in a serpentine draft format. With the lotto done based on final standing of the previous year. I would like to make a switch of our format slightly to make the draft a bit more interesting and fair. I propose that we stick to a serpentine format, but,chang the draft order every other round. This seems to be more interesting than the old way of doing things.

You can see the order below. Notice how I (poopscoop) had a 2/55 odds since I finished second last year. I got the 9th pick in the first round, then the second pick in the following round (serpentine). The the lotto is ran again in the third round where I got the first overall pick. Do you guys think this is a good idea? I wanted to pitch it here before I go to the league comish!

First of all I like to know when my next pick is. That can help to determine my next pick, also I like to know who is drafting around me, if you switch that every 2 rounds, I think too many times you get screwed with this set-up.

yep, i played one year with a format like this and it made it very hard at the draft... not hard... i guess annoying was the word... but hey, go with what you like...

So you changed the order during the draft, yeah that would suck. I would like to set the order months ahead of time but in the above way.

That would suck not knowing your next draft spot, I agree. I would not quit that league.

ahh, theleague i played changed every round... hated it...

but if you know in advance it can be interesting... but some teams will get better advantages... it's interesting... but no one can say it's as fair, cuz it';s not fair to every team... it's impossible for it to be...

In the past 4 years I have gotten the 9th, 10th, 8th and 9th spots out of 10. I am getting sick of drafting back to back all the time. That is my main motive for switching things up.

The point of a draft is for everyone to basically be on equal ground, based on skill. Not a "lottery" in my opinion.
