for a keeper league im a fan of 4-7 keepers. it really sucks for the guys who built an amazing team through drafting, trading, and free agency to be only be able to keep 1 or 2 players... its like penalizing a team for building a great team

In my opinion if you are keeping 4-7 players every year you should be in a dynasty league not a keeper league.
Sounds to me like your system that you proposed with 2 keepers is built on a solid foundation. It is frustrating for owners who get in on the ground floor and find it might be 5 years before they can get their hands on a top 5 RB. I am a fan of keeping solid players not Studs. Our league allows you to keep 2 players who have scored outside of the top 65% of points for their position. Studs are availible and quality guys are holds. Allows all a chance to compete each year. If you are going to allow people to hold LT , Manning and Ocho Cinco on the same team sounds crazy to me unless its a dynasty league.

In my keeper league, we restrict the number of years a player can be designated as a "keeper." Three years.

I enjoy reading all the feedback however, I am still wondering if any of you keeper veterans find a flaw in my logic? To recap... Every team will keep 2 players with the only stipulations being that they cannot be drafted in the first 2 rounds or of the same position. This is so that everyone doesn't keep 2 stud rbs. Next year your 2 keepers will be your first 2 picks, this will mean that you can only have your 2 keepers for 1 year. Over the years some owners have moved away. Thus we hold an online yahoo draft. Occassionally an owner or two will not be able to attend the draft. This way we will all pre-rank our first 2 picks (keepers) and should not have any issues over keeping them. This is a 14 team league and we are finnally moving to keeper this year. Thanks!
