The Cowboys signed guard Steve Franklin on Thursday, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Terms were not disclosed. Franklin, 24, started for three years at Syracuse and was with the Chiefs last summer before being released.

Franklin is simply depth material, but this signing might be further notice that the Cowboys have no intention of bringing Marco Rivera back.
