Our current scoring is 6 pts for a passing TD and -3 for an INT. I've spent many offseasons in this league trying to convince the other owners to change this to the standard 4 pts for a passing TD and -2 for an interception. The arguments I often receive back are that since we only start 1 QB it should count for more and that if we score 4 points for a TD we shouldn't take anything off for interceptions because then QB's wouldn't score enough. It just doesn't make sense to me to count 3 QB TD's as 50% more than 2 rushing TD's based on opportunity alone but I just haven't been able to convince the league. What does everyone else think?

I have no problem with 4 or 6 for a passing TD, but I do think that -3 is a lot for an INT. I would like it at -1 or -2 at the most
6 points for a passing TD outside the 30 yd line. 3 points for a passing TD from the 30 in. -2 for int. We also have points per passing yards 1 for every 20 until 200 and then 1 for every 10 after 200
this is a common balance argument.. i see two possible scoring systems with these to 4 points/TD... 20 yds/point -2/int 6 points/TD... 25 yds/1 point -2/int
i do agree 6 points is to many which is why i use 4
an argument QB throws for 150 yards 2 TD's/1 int..with 6 points/TD this QB scoes 16 points (equal to a RB or WR going for 100 and a TD)
With 4 points/TD this QB scores only 13.5 points which seems to fit the production of his stats. That way a guy who only gets these mediocore stats wont equal the production of a RB or reciever who has an above average week
I actually use the QB yardage to balance the equation... I give the QB the 6 for the TD and -2 for an picks, but he only gets a point for every 45 yds.
My feeling is its a 50/50 whether the ball gets run or thrown in, so the QB still has alot of risk to merit the 6pts for a TD. However, he's throwing all the time, and the yardage needs to get knocked down so it doesn't get out of hand.

I don't get that. Wouldn't you want to reward consistent play, versus a freak 3 TD game occasionally?
14 Team w/FLX .5PPR The Porkchop Express QB: Carson Palmer, Vince Young RB: Maurice Jones-Drew, Matt Forte, Reggie Bush, Tim Hightower WR: Greg Jennings, Anquan Boldin, Terrell Owens, Jabar Gaffney TE: John Carlson, Ben Watson PK: R Gould TD: NO, TB
I see consistent play as being able to pass a TD into the end zone, which is pretty difficult especially with short yardage. If I was to set QB yardage at like 25 than QBs on teams with crappy defenses and insane passers (read: Peyton Manning) would go insane. Think about it... you could be like John Kitna, just air the ball like a madman, get ntercepted 22 times, and STILL score a retarded amount of points.
No, winning the game is getting the ball into the end zone, and accurate passing is the QB's skill (hitting the target) I want to reward. Hitting people in the open field is nice, but it isn't going to win the game in RL and it shouldn't in FL.
