Benson will clearly be the starter. With Peterson lucky to get 6 touches a game. But if/when Benson gets injured, Peterson is a more than capable fill in. And if you do draft Benson, it is a must that you handcuff Peterson.

Mr. B hit it on the nose. Benson will be the definant starter in Chicago, but like Blitz said, if or when Benson gets injured, Peterson can fill in very nicely.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Peterson used a decent amount but only if Benson has some early troubles. Benson will start out as the man and barring injury or poor performances, he'll stay the man. Although, if Benson still hasn't worked out his blocking issues we could see another back in on 3rd downs and that could be Peterson.

The only debate in Chicago is who gets more 3rd down looks and be the true backup; Garrett Wolfe or Peterson

What has AP done? Nothing! ;-D

Benson is a first round draft pick, it's time to see if he was worth it.

Don't sleep on AP. In the 2005-2006 season, he showed that he had some ability. If Benson ever were to go down, he'd have quite a bit of value. I expect Peterson to get 5 carries a game this season.

I just don't think the Bears think highly of Benson since they were trying to bring Chris Bown in.

Thoughts on that?
