As far as the announcers go, they seem to be kind of making a mockery of the whole thing. Like with the term reversal- which I guess is a more formal way of saying puke. And when they talk about great moments in American sports history and stuff, it sounds like they are just being facetious.

They were. They were going WAY over the top, comparing this competition to Gibson's home run or Schilling's bloody sock. They were hamming it up for fun. They thanked everyone for putting up with their hyperbole at the end of the show.

I think they were definately trying to oversensationalize the event. it kinda reminded me of the movie dodgeball with those announcers. or kinda bob euker like.
I can't really watch this event whole heartedly, i just kinda glimpse at it and listen. but i did watch the end and seeing kobyashi puke while covering his mouth and then continue to gobble the puke was pretty gut wrenching. so he was docked a couple dogs for that. he was almost tied with joey at that point.
well at least the belt is back in the state. way to go joey.
