Rookie WR besides Calvin, best career?

Postby firesword » Sat Jul 07, 2007 12:49 pm

Besides Calvin Johnson which of the 2007 rookie wide receivers will have the best career and why?

Robert Meachem (NO)
Dwayne Bowe (KC)
Sidney Rice (MIN)
Ted Ginn (MIA)
Anthony Gonzalez (IND)
Dwayne Jarret (CAR)
Steve Smith (NYG)

Gonzalez...he is the heir to the Indy Jewels....nuff said. Even if Peyton isn't around his whole career what numbers he does put up in that time will be enough to top any of these other receivers.

I think that Gonzalez and Meachem have the best chances. Gonzo has Peyton Meachem has Brees.

I'd definitely say Gonzalez. He is being groomed to someday be the #1 WR in Indy with Manning throwing to him.

I like Gonzalez as well. He will be learning under a great QB, WR, and system. Not only that, but he could end up being a key part of that system very soon. He definitely has the talent as well.

As a UT alum, I have seen Meachem play his whole college career and I say he is going to be a very good NFL reciever. He is playing in a offense second only to the Colts. His strengths are hs hands, his smooth route running and he is very physical for an avg. size reciever. Quite possibly his biggest strength though is his YAC. He makes some excellent moves with the ball in his hands a la Steve Smith. Im not saying he is going to be that good but he certainly has all the tools.

I like Dwayne Jarrett in the long run better than any of those guys.

He'll have to wait awhile. Reggie Wayne has a long contract and will go #1 when Harrison retires.

Smith is pretty unheralded amongst those guys on that list. I wouldn't be surprised if he climbed up to be Eli's favorite target pretty quickly, maybe even in the next couple years.

you really like Jarrett that much CC?

I think of him as a Keyshawn type, which i think is awesome cuz Key should make the Hall, but you think Meachem has the chance to be better?
