What's the best scoring system to use? Is Yahoo's new default system ideal? (Passing: 1 point per 25 yards & 4 points per TD. Rushing and Receiving: 1 point per 10 yards & 6 points per TD) Note: I'm not looking for some innovative scoring system, just a basic system that is the most balanced.

14 team league, family and friends

With my "family/friends" FF league I've run the past few years I've kept it simple as possible. No negative scoring. No fractional scoring. In the past I've set it up so QB's get 6pts per passing TD, 1pt per 20yds passing. This year I think I'll be changing it to the 4pt/TD 1pt/20yds setup.

And in my more competitive league we're going to penalize for INTs and FUMs (-1 or -2 each, not sure yet).

I'm also not a big fan of the FG bonus scoring but most everyone in my leagues like it so majority wins. (30-39yd fg/3pts, 40-49yd fg/4pts, 50+yd fg/5pts)
