They look like trouble... when I was a kid we boarded two malamutes over the winter. Kept them in the barn with the horses. Their idea of 'chew toy' was gnawing on a 4x4 chunk of wood. Great fun dogs though.

Yeh, I've owned several over the last 18 years and they're definitely a handful! I always advise people that they're not a good dog if you've never owned a dog before. When my ex used to sell our pups, she would tell people that phoned all the bad things about owning a Mal and then if they were still interested she would tell them to come over! They def have a mind of their own - the one thing I do really love is they are so great with kids and can be very protective of them (they don't give a damn about your property though - if a burglar were to break in, the dog would be apt to show him where the good stuff is hidden and then help him haul it out, lol! Fortunately their size is enough to ward off most ne'er-do-wells). And they have to be about the cutest puppies on the planet!!!

Oh yeah, gotta second that. The malamutes we boarded were full-grown but still youngish, and at the time me and my older sis were about 9 and 11 years old. The dogs absolutely loved playing with us, and would play with the horses, too. My sis and I would hook them up to a sled and say 'mush!' and they'd turn around and run back to us to lick our faces. So my older sister, in her devious ways, told me 'run in front of them so they'll chase you, then I'll run and they can pull you on the sled.' So I'd run my legs off, then when it was my turn on the sled, she'd go inside for hot chocolate. :-b

my dog's got this wacky limp going on, see, sometime she picks up one paw and hobbles on the other, I would assume because the other one hurts, but it goes away after a few hours, but this one's been hangin' around for a few days. She's fine outside in the grass...she'll run around, but inside she hobbles...making me think she must have stepped on something, I hope it's not arthritis or something. :-o
