I was actually going to post that SI cover but I forgot. Glad some good has come out of such an awful situation.
Vick and his pals are some terrible human beings...if you can even call them human beings. I really hope Vick never sets foot on an NFL field again, he doesn't deserve the privilege of being a football player.....stupid turd.

I know you're a big dog guy and this gets your emotions going, but I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. If Pacman Jones is still an NFL player, Vick should be as well. This is not the worst thing that an NFL player has ever done, and people who have done worse have come back to play. Like it or not, Vick should be reinstated.

Don't forget Leonard Little, who killed someone when he hit their car while driving with a blood alcohol level of .19.
Kudos to Leber for the amazing sig and to Metroid for the userbar and making them both fit 2008 and 2009 Defunct Dynasty League Champion
We're not talking about Leonard Little and we're not talking about Pac Man we're talking about Mike Dog Murderer Vick. Should he be allowed to join the league again if he serves his time and does everything required of him? Of course. Do I personally think he should? Absolutely not. It's just my personal opinion. I'd rather see him cleaning dog kennels earning minimum wage for the rest of his life than making millions playing a game.

100 % fine with me. I find his actions as disgusting as the next guy, don't get me wrong. What he did was inexcusable. My comment was meant to serve one purpose and that purpose was to say that based on precedent he should get back into the league.
As Met said, he wasn't talking about Little or Pacman. We can have our individual opinions on those two. Vick, in my opinion, shouldn't be allowed back in the NFL. For me, it's not the crime so much as what a man is capable of in this crime. It's awful. And if a man is capable of watching and allowing (if not doing these things himself) than he's really a disturbed person and shouldn't have the privilege of playing a game and making millions. Simply put, if Vick is capable of inflicting this great deal of pain on innocent animals for his amusement, what else would he be capable of? Wait a minute, reinstate him. I'm sure there's plenty of LBs and DEs who love dogs.
He should certainly be allowed back in the league. He'll have served his time, and been 'rehabilitated'; that is the purpose of jail time isn't it? I think what he did is as despicable as the next guy, but after he's served his sentence, he should be allowed to pursue his career, provided a team wants his services, same as any other person would do in any other career.

Yeah, I guess I don't see an NFL career as a job like the rest of us. More of a privilege and should be held in higher regard since they are in the public light. Our tolerance should be less than with others I think.
Sure there are many of us saying that he should not be allowed to play, but the facts are that if he is allowed to play, he will sell tickets and people will buy his jersey. There is the possibility that being away from the game will take its toll and he will not become a starter again, but there will be a team willing to give him the chance (whether we think it is right or wrong)
