yeah that's our Barney...we're not sure what he is...some people say part pit, others say no way. the only thing that makes me think he isnt is that pit-mix's typically have that large pit-type head where he has more of a beagle head...but who knows
we think he could be some combo of beagle, boxer, greyhoud/whippet...they have DNA tests you can send for but they can only ID about 50 breeds or something
He could be part Catahoula Leopard. The color (and head even) looks quite similar to a dog my parents had that we were told was part Catahoula... Who knows though, right?

He used to only swim when coaxed or thrown. This year was pretty funny though. When it got hot, he'd just go down the steps and wade in, swim around for awhile and get out. Like, he thinks he's a person or something!
I got a friend who's pit just loves their pool. Will play fetch all day if you let him. Very strong swimmer. Pretty fun to watch. He just swims around the people in the pool to get to the ball then swims back to the steps and brings it back to you to do it all over again.
