Rookie Draft...Commentary Welcome

Postby jake_twothousandfive » Sun Jul 29, 2007 11:49 pm

n case anyone is interested I thought I would post the results of my dynasty league rookie draft as it unfolds (I'll update it a few times every day). It might be helpful to anyone who has yet to do their draft.

This is a money league and everyone is extremely competitive and trying to do as well as they possibly can. The scoring format is pretty standard: 6 pts/TD, 1 pt/25 yards passing, 1 pt/10 yards rushing/recieving, no PPR.

JaMarcus at 1.03? I thought you said this was a serious money league?

I had a very hard time making my mind up with my 1.05 pick. I was considering Michael Bush, Chris Henry (Ten), and Brandon Jackson. Thanks to some great advice from the readers of this forum, I decided to take Jackson with this pick. He will also serve as a handcuff to Vernard Morency for me (the rest of my team can be seen here).

I can't explain all the picks, I can only post them. Though the owner of this pick is a die-hard Raiders fan and has good depth and youth at RB but only 2 QBs on his active roster (Jake Delhomme and Chad Pennington). The fact that he is a Raiders fan, the potential of Russell, and his team needs were enough for him to pass on Lynch (I guess).

I'm only trying to be helpful by posting this. I'm not going to change picks so that they are look more like I feel they should. This is how the draft is actually unfolding in my league and nothing else.

If you guys don't award KR/PR points I don't see why Ginn has gone ahead of Meachem and Bowe and even the possible RBs out there. I don't see Ginn much more than being a specialist.(Suprised he didn't pick Irons, though only an assumption to his team name)

And yes the Russell pick is odd, but the first thing I noticed was his team name so I just wrote it off. I also think Jackson was the best available to help out because of the chance of splitting with Morency and the chance he may end up starting eventually, but I'm not calling that race won yet.

Agreed 100%. I've got Bowe, Gonzales, and Meachem ahead of all the other WRs. I'd rather have Bush or Henry than Ginn as well.

IMHO, Adrian Peterson is a lock for the #1 pick. WR are just too unpredictable.

Although it does kind of depend on team need.
