Free 32 Team Dynasty League

Postby HiAspire » Tue Jul 31, 2007 11:05 am

I have been playing in simulation baseball leagues (where you run an organization and their minor leagues) for many years with a great group of guys, and we've decided to start up something similar on the football side.

We've tried to make the rules as close to the real thing as possible with free agents, college draft, signing bonuses, practice squads, salary cap, etc.

It is a 32-team league with every franchise represented. If you are interested in joining, check out the rules, register on the message board, and post your top 5 team preferences in the introductions forum (only visible to registered users). We'll assign teams in the coming weeks and you'll take over a franchise.

Completely free and customized league management software for online enjoyment.

Sure seems interesting. I just don't think I'd have the time for it though.

It can be involved, depending upon how much you put into it. The busiest time will be the off-season (August to mid-September this year before we start up). Once the season gets going, there isn't as much to do unless you want to bench your QB or something. It is mostly about GM team building with the most interesting stuff in the off-seasons.

Just to clarify, each franchise will include the real players under contract at the end of the 2006 season with their real deals. We'll have a free agency period where you bid against other teams for guys on the market, and you can use a franchise tag to keep one of your best guys at a high rate of pay, draft college players, make trades so long as they fit under the limit with salary cap hits, etc.

It attempts to recreate taking over a team as much as possible.

All the teams had been filled and we are about to begin our off-season this upcoming week with franchise players to be named and free agency right around the corner.

However, I think we are going to need to fill 2-3 spots with replacement GMs. If you are interested in a very comprehensive league that tries to simulate running an NFL franchise, take a look around.

We'll have free agent bidding using online tools, an online college draft with a running clock that you can pre-set your selection preferences if you aren't around when you're up, and the ability to show trade availability when other teams look over your roster online.

New England, Minnesota, and Tampa Bay are potentially open in need of replacement GMs, and Kansas City and Carolina might be interested in switching to those teams and leaving those open. I would also like to build a wait list beyond that for this league with many long-time players to ensure the longevity of this new league.

If interested, you can register for an account on the message board. Then the introductions thread will be visible for you to introduce yourself. Thanks!
