Payout?

I'm the commish of a redraft league in its third year. Each year I've upped the buy-in and fiddled with the payout. Does everyone use a formula such as 1st place is 40%, second is 20%, etc?

Also, do you have weekly prizes? High score? Biggest margin? I'd like to give something for the bottom guys to shoot for.

I'm thinking this for the season:

$50 buy-in x 10 teams
1st -- $200
2nd -- $100
3rd -- $50
4th -- $35
draft supplies -- $25
Weekly prize -- $5 x 13 (playoffs weeks 14,15,16)

I don't have a specific formula, but I have a similar league (10 team, the cost is $40). I have 2 divisions and give the division winners a share $25/each, then pay out 1st($200) and 2nd($80) place. I also have a tiolet bowl bracket for teh teams that don't make the playoffs and they play for $20, to keep all teams interested throughout the season and playoffs. We have weekly high score and a low man out pool

I have a $20/week prize for high score for the week.

I usually do payouts so that 3rd place gets its league entry fee back...2nd place 2X that...1st place 4X that.

We have a $35 buy in and we have 12 teams (6 Teams make playoffs)

12 teams X $ 60 = $ 720. Pay out total is $ 720

We do 50% for Super Bowl winner, 20% for runner-up, and 15% to both division winners.

This past year I won the super bowl and my division, so I got a 65% cut.

Also pay a spiff to each team that has the high score for the week during the season.
