From what I am seeing a lot of people are not willing to risk a second round pick on Portis right now. He was mid-second until this tendonitis issue, and now rightly or wrongly people are scared off enough that some of the receivers like Harrison and Holt are going before him, as well as ALL of the running backs mentioned already in here. He is great value there IF healthy, but it seems that since the people picking mid to late second round already have a back with question marks on their roster (LJ, Gore, SA, etc.), they dont want a second risky player.
It seems that the #1 and #2 spots (LT and SJax owners) are more likely to take him as they have a 'less risk' back already on their roster.
Based on how you value him and his ADP there is nothing wrong with taking him there. However you may benifit from taking someone else and trading, depends how much you want him.
I like Portis ahead of McGahee and Brown. He's got huge upside as a #2, and as long as you get Betts (you have to), you'll be guaranteed production in that system.
I think the fact that he was hurt last year and isn't yet completely healthy, makes him a slightly questionable pick at #6, though I took him there in the Y! How to Lose a League draft.
I think saying he's injury "prone" is a bit of a misnomer though. Prior to last year, he had played in 33 of his 34 games as a Redskin.
Maybe he'll get hurt this year, maybe he won't. There is definitely a faction of people here at the cafe that are a little too sure he's gonna be hurt. There's a solid chance that he gets hurt, but it's being overstated right now. Still, if you handcuff Betts, you should have top 10 RB production either way. I didn't handcuff him only because Betts went at #56, which I think is just too high, but what can you do?
If you take Portis, I'd try to grab Betts in round 7 or 8, depending on how fast RBs are flying off the board.

I agree with Guru... my order would be Henry, Ronnie Brown, Edge, then McGahee. Portis has the potential to be a top ten back but he has more potential to get hurt. If these guys are gone and you take portis, get Betts! If Portis goes down, Betts will be a solid #2.
