I tried to fill this league using the ESPN boards previously, and unfortunately, we ended up with a lot of ESPN quality players (I think that really says it all)
Novel with backstory as follows:
My husband and I have been doing a 12 team keeper league with other guys he's served (and one other wife) with for 3 years now. Long story short without getting too depressing, 8 of them died overseas this year, another isn't "right" anymore and needs some time to focus on getting himself better, and the other girl in the league wants to grieve - and pretty much only did the league to share something with her husband, anyways.
My husband wants to keep the league going as sort of a remembrance of his friends, but it's got 10 empty spots in it and we don't really know anybody else who plays fantasy football. We're looking for people who would like to join his league for a friendly and competitive group, maybe get together a couple times over the course of the year to watch a game (not mandatory of course).
Only requirements are you have to be really active and not abandon, can't treat it like a game of Madden and just get crazy, and be a decent fantasy owner. We do a live draft, and everybody should probably be able to show up for that too. This league and keeping it going is really important to him, so please if you aren't going to really participate and you'll just end up leaving your team pretty much unattended, pass. We'd prefer people who are either serving or have previously served, but it's by no means a requirement. We'd like to keep it an adults only league for obvious reasons.
The way it used to work was everybody put in 20 bucks and the top 3 people got prizes (money and trophies). No money involved this year unless everybody really wants it since we're all going to be strangers to each other. We use a site called Fleaflicker which is free and has awesome features.

1) It's an IDP keeper league. You start 1 quarterback, 2 running backs, 3 wide receivers, a tight end, a "flex" offensive position of anything but a quarterback, 1 kicker and 5 defensive players of any position.
2) You get to keep 6 offensive players and 2 defensive players. There is a redraft every year for all the other players including incoming rookies.
3) All positions offer fractional points. All offensive positions get -2 points for fumbles lost. All positions get 6 points for touchdowns they bring into the endzone.
4) Point structure for passing is is 1 pt/20 yards, 6 points for passing touchdown, 2 points for a 2 point conversion, and -2 points for an interception
5) Point structure for rushing is 1 pt/10 yards, 6 points rushing TD, 2 points for a 2 point conversion, -2 points for a fumble lost
6) Point structure for receiving is 1 pt/10 yards, 6 points receiving TD, 2 points for 2 point conversion, -2 points for a fumble lost, and 1/2 point for each reception
7) Point structure for special teams is 1 pt/20 yards return (kick or punt).
8) FG's - I don't really remember the field goal points, but the'yre pretty standard.
9) Defensive point structure is: 1 point for solo tackle, 1/2 point for assisted tackle, 4 points for a sack, 4 points for a forced fumble, 4 points for a fumble recovery, 4 points for an interception, 4 points for a safety and 4 points for a blocked kick.
