The colts D has shown (duing a brief apperance) that they will again be the worst D in football this year. Teams have used the strategy before of trying to keep peyton manning off the field by eating as much clock as possible.
The question to ponder is... would limiting the colts O TOP equal a reduction in carries for Addai?
Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. Fourty percent of people know that.
While I don't normally think one person can make that big a difference on defense, Indy has shown that they play much better when they have Bob Sanders on the field. Since he was out this last game I think it's safe to say they will be better. And, of course, you can't read too much into the vanilla offenses/defensive schemes coaches throw out there during preseason.
Cato June GONE. Nick Harper GONE. Booger McFarland OUT FOR THE YEAR. Who did the Colts bring in? Nobody. I don't know if it will make a huge impact on the offense, but I definitely do believe the Colts won't have as much time on the field this year. And everybody is just ASSUMING that Addai will get 90% of the carries. I'm still skeptical. Didn't Addai share the load in college? With Rhodes? (who wasn't anything special, IMHO). And combine that with the fact that Tony Dungy has been a big supporter of RBBC throughout his entire career and I'm not at all convinced Addai is a lock to be a workhorse type back.

Yeah that was quite a long drive. In the Colts defense, they were only playing one regular starter in the secondary, and Dallas' offense is pretty good too.

Their defense is offensive.
Yeah, the colts proved last year that "defense doesn't win championships".
It is preseason, I do not think there is any reason to push the panic button the Colts' defense yet. I trust Tony Dungy to get something working on the D side of the ball, and they are a different unit with Bob Sanders on the field. Right now, I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
Addai did share the load at LSU with several backs (Shyrone Carey, Alley Broussard, Justin Vincent, etc.) but I think he can handle a full load. I do question his durability b/c he was banged up every now and then in college, but I think he is worth the risk b/c he plays on a potent Colts' offense. I do not worry about the Colts' defense affecting his value b/c he is useful as a receiver and Peyton will get him the ball on check downs and such. So even if the defense is terrible, Addai will get opportunities.
