suggestions for league prize money.

Postby jebatzel » Mon Aug 13, 2007 5:23 am

I am running a league for the 5 year in a row, but this time I will be adding prize money. $175 in prize money to give out.

looking for suggestions.

I was originally thinking of

1st: $100
2nd: $50
3rd: $25

It was suggested to me that maybe the winner should get more money and giving a prize for winner of regular season.

Another idea would be

Regular season winner: $50
Playoff winner: $100
2nd place playoffs: $25

Its a yahoo plus league so you get yahoo's prize for winning it all.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

How it works with my $$ baseball or hockey leagues are that we each pay $100 for a total of $1,200. If memory serves, here are the payouts:

1st (regular season) - $100
1st (playoffs) - $600
2nd (playoffs) - $400
3rd (playoffs) - $100

I know that your $$ is different but you can adjust according to %. It allows for the 3rd place team to get their $$ back, the league winner to win half of the pot, and the regular season winner to not waste a full season of hard work and not get a thing. We used to do monthly payouts as well but that was way too hard to keep track of.
