Limit on number of WW moves / fee

A few guys in my league want to change the unlimitedf amount of droops/adds to a much lower number [10-15] and then charge each owner a $1 for each additional move over the limit.

What do you think about setting a limit and...

how do you go about keeping track of it. If you don't monitor it duriong the season then you have to try and collect after [always troublesome] and if you keep track during the season it's a hassle. I'm not "birddogging" people, someone else can do that.

My compromise was to reduce it to 50 moves.

I think that if you change the way waivers work so that all free agents are placed on waivers as soon as the first game starts on Sunday and they don't come off waivers until Tuesday, that eliminates a lot of the add/drops as you don't get people adding players in the middle of a game, like when McNabb went down last year and people picked up Garcia.

Also, you could set the maximum number at 15 and if they don't use them all, then the money can either be refunded or applied towards next years fees. Most sites will track the number of roster transactions.

50 moves?? That seems like overkill. Assuming that you finish your playoffs in week 16, that's just over 3 per week. Do you really need that much turnover?? As for keeping track, doesn't Yahoo do that on the leaguepage?? I would assume that other sites are similar.
