Eagles coach Andy Reid said Thursday that rookie RB Tony Hunt would not only play with the second- and third-stringers, but that he would be the club's short-yardage/goal-line back with the starters, a possible sign that he could take over that role in 2007. "With the ones, that's where you'll see Tony," Reid said of Hunt being in there at the end zone and short yardage downs. (Updated 08/16/2007).
Im more concerned with whether I should pick up Buckhalter or Hunt???

with the way westbrook scores, I don't think it's huge. My perception of him is that the eagles don't usually run from there anyway. He seems to score more when there is space.
The opening scene of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" is loosely based on games of dodgeball Brian Dawkins played in second grade.

Yep. I just looked at all his TDs from last year, and he only had one rushing TD that was less than five yards. Westbrook's value shouldn't take much of a hit but its not great for him either.

Go with Hunt. Buckhalter has very little cartilege left in his knee and is basically running bone on bone.

This was expected. Also, Westbrook often lines up in the slot near the goalline, so this would not impact him too greatly.

Buckhalter's injury history does really scare me, but what scares me more is Andy Reid.....when you think someone is over and done they''ll end up contributing. Hunt is definately the more attractive pick, younger, powerback, will probably get goalline touches. Do you guys really think he'd get the majority of the workload in Westbrook's abscense or do you think they'll share the load. If they'll share then I might as well get Hunt.

I'm really not looking to draft Westbrook where he's going (late 1st) unless it's a PPR league. With the way the Eagles operate, he probably had his career year last year. It's hard to match 11 scores as a RB unless you are getting cracks at the goalline. 11 TDs matches career high. Rushing yards were by far a career high. Career high in receptions and almost match career high in receiving yards. He was used to just about his maximum last year. Now he jumps all the way up to the 1st round.
