Trading for waiver priority

Postby steelerfan513 » Sat Aug 18, 2007 10:55 am

I had an owner in a dynasty league I commish ask me if it would be permissable to trade for a better waiver priority. I've never heard of this before, but I wanted to get the Cafe's opinion about whether allowing this is a good idea or not.

I've never heard of it either. I guess that would be something your league would have to vote on. Personally, I'd say no because you run the risk of owners possibly throwing games later in the season to gain draft picks, etc.

I say yes. I just joined a league, and the ability to trade a waiver pick was one of the main reasons I joined. The important clarification is it would be trading for waiver priority, not draft picks. And, you could restrict it by limiting how long the pick(s) can be owned before it reverts to the original team.
