SRBT question from a newbie

Postby longlivethepats » Sun Aug 19, 2007 10:19 pm

This is my second year playing in a live draft league (although we started early tonight through e-mail) and it's a 14 team league. last year I drafted RB, RB, QB, WR. Needless to say, Tiki Barbar over Manning and Trent Green were poor choices!

This year, at 9th pick, I chose WR Chad Johnson as a first pick instead of a RB because the better RBs were already chosen and I didn't want to miss out on having at least one stud player. Ahead of me were picked:

(RB) LaDanian Tomlinson
S. Jackson
L. Johnson
F. Gore
P. Manning
S. Alexander
W. Parker
B. Westbrook

Now I'm feeling stupid because I don't know if I should try and pick up a 2nd tier RB or go for a top QB and pick up a low 2nd tier RB. Desperate for suggestions...

Go after the best available RB. You ned a RB or your hurting. Especially in a 14 team league. Rb's will become scarce.

Aarraahh! The advice came a moment too late. The next picks, late in the 2nd round believe it or not, were:

Burger
R. Bush
C. Palmer
D. Bees
T. Brady

I felt pressured to pick a QB...it seems like the people in my league don't draft by any of the rules and I feel like I end up scrampling for the next most valueable player instead of sticking w/my SRBT strategy. I think I might be in for it...I'll be definitely scrambling for a late tier 2 of high tier 3 RB.

Any advice on late valueable RB pick ups?
