Ok guys between September 7th-11th my new laptop will arrive.

Inspiron 1520, Intel Core 2 Duo T7500, 2.2GHz, 800Mhz, 4M L2 Cache
4GB RAM, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm
256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
160G 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive

This is by far as fully loaded as a 1520 comes, there are no options higher, there is nothing faster out there available to the public at any reasonable or practical price as far as laptops go. It's Dell though and I've had bad experiences in the past but I had a deal come my way that I couldn't pass up. Yeah you could say I'm pretty happy. This baby alone will run anything out there easily. Plus it's small enough (6 pounds) that it's easily mobile enough for me. I'm scared of Windows Vista though I guess I'll have to get used to it... I hear DirectX10 is going to be awesome, can't wait.

Now I just gotta go out and get Madden 08...

Oh yeah I haven't had a new computer in like 5 years either so this doesn't happen every night.

Nice! I'm eyeing a new desktop PC pretty soon. I want at least 3.0 GHz processor and at least 2GB of Ram. I'm thinking of doing a 512MB vid card with DirectX10 though. I want something that's gonna last more than 2 years before I have to upgrade again to play new games.

Then I think about the price compared to like an xbox360 or ps3, and suddenly those consoles don't seem so expensive. So I'm not sure how I'm going to satisfy my gaming needs, but something's gotta give soon with games like BioShock coming out.

Madden is much better on the console I agree but it'll be a darn good fix between (and during) classes on the lappy when I'm away from home!

I just hope this thing doesn't overheat and melt down in 6 months... I have no idea how a laptop this small can have such insane speed and video card. Technology has come so far in the past 5 years. 5 years ago 512mb ram was fast, now I'll have 4 gigs, yeesh. Glad I have the 3 year warranty...
