Should You Start Platoon RBs or 2 Starters (varying Tiers)?

Postby Tetonskier » Tue Aug 21, 2007 7:14 pm

Is it ever advisable to start a teams platooning RBs, hoping to capture a teams entire rushing yardage and TD output vs. starting 2 RBs from different squads who might lose yards/TDs to a 3rd down/goal line specialist?

For instance a "healthy" Travis Henry / Mike Bell combo vs. Henry and another mid-tier starter.

I would start Rb's from 2 different teams. Your potential for both RB's going offing is much greater than 2 from 1 team. Plus, you limit the chance of a complete zero if your 1 team tandem runs into a brick wall.

Yeah I would start 2 studs from different teams. You might be able to get away with it with guys like Bush and McCallister in NO, but I would stick to getting the 2 best RBs you can get regardless of their team. If you're concerned about guys losing carries, then just stay away from teams where 2 RBs will be splitting carries and get RBs who are gonna get 65% or more of the team's carries. The link below is for a Sports Illustrated article that shows how teams are planning to split up their carries.

Hope this helps.

I wouldn't ever do this becaus eyou are limiting yourself to only 1 team's rushing output. If you start 2 RBs from 2 different teams then you have the potential to have 2 teams' rusing output. Also, Henry is the lone back in Denver and there isn't going to be RBBC.
