DO NOT Draft Backups for TE, K or DEF

Postby latraffic » Thu Aug 23, 2007 2:18 pm

It's draft central and I keep watching the newbies shoot themselves in the foot. Here's another mistake (mistake #1 is here) I'm seeing repeated. DO NOT draft a backup for your tight-end, your kicker or your defense! If you can only start 1 of each (as is typical), you're wasting valuable draft picks and bench space for a postion you can easily fill for the bye week from the waiver wire. If you're in the late rounds and you have filled all your required roster spots, draft sleeper running backs or wide recievers! Smart managers fill their bench spots with high risk-high/high-reward players who can either be potential trade material or will fill in a spot for an injuried player.
Thank God for Football Season.
