strategies for my league

been gone from FF for 2 years and friends just started up a league. And Im new to having 14teams and IDPs.

Its a H2H league
QB, QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, K, D, D, DB, DB, DL, DL, DL, DL, BN, BN, BN, BN

If I had the first couple picks Id definitely get a stud RB.
but if I get one of the later picks how should I go about picking up players?
Should I nab QBs/WRs and grab a goal line type RB later?

I think in a 14-team league you can't underestimate the value of stud RBs because if you don't pick one in the first few rounds, you're probably not going to get a quality one at all. I'd take an RB with picks 1-13, and maybe consider Peyton Manning at 14 if all of the good ones are taken.
