Same bye week advise..

Postby duckdiaz » Sun Sep 02, 2007 1:34 am

I’ve got a bit of a predicament; Both my QB’s have the same bye week. :-o

Kitna, Jon QB DET Bye week 6
Losman, J.P. QB BUF Bye week 6

This is who’s left.

Steve McNair bye week 8
Charlie Frye Bye: Week 7
Damon Huard Bye: Week 8
Trent Green Bye: Week 9
Joey Harrington Bye: Week 8
Tarvaris Jackson Bye: Week 5
Jason Campbell Bye: Week 4

Any advise on how to get through week 6?

My Roster.
Kitna, Jon QB DET
Losman, J.P. QB BUF
Gore, Frank RB SF
James, Edgerrin RB ARI
Washington, Leon RB NYJ
White, LenDale RB TEN
Evans, Lee WR BUF
Smith, Steve WR CAR

Harrington might not be bad for that week. Week 6 they play the NY Giants so there's potential for some good points there. I wouldnt do anything yet. Wait it out and let the QBs settle in so you know who's been playing well and who has earned the starting roles. Make your move the week before you need him. Out of who's available see who's been playing the best and factor that in with who they play in week 6. Then drop one of your kickers and pick up the QB you decided on. If you still feel the need for a 2nd kicker then after week 6 drop the QB you just picked up and get your kicker back.

I'm with Ahzzy, you've still got five weeks to figure out who to drop, there is no rush to fix it before week 1 even starts. A trade may come along, one of them may end up being horrible, plus, you are carrying two kickers, so you have one easily droppable player

I agree with the others don't even sweat it yet. There are several serviceable options and there's no rush to make a move now.

Worry about that when it comes up. You don't want to drop someone potentially useful to your team right now for something that doesn't take effect until week 6. Reevaluate the situatino when it arises.

I'm with the "wait and see" approach. There are enough decent options available - you'll be able to get one in time, and by then you'll have a better idea how they're doing for the year. And look at it this way: even if you don't get much from your QB that week, it's only ONE week - it's not the end of the world...

My advice would be to drop Losman, one of your kickers, and one of your D's. Unless you're concerned with Kitna not producing or getting injured, there's probably little chance you would ever use Losman. Then when week 6 rolls around, you can play matchups and take the best QB off the waiver wire for that week only.

Same thing essentially goes for one of your kickers and one of your D's. I would use these three open spots to pick up the best RB/WR's you see on the WW. If you let us know how many teams are in your league, and a rough idea of who's available on the waiver wire, we could give you a little more insight.

I do think you have some very solid starters though. ;-D
