Better TE?

Postby BrewCrew6 » Mon Sep 03, 2007 2:42 pm

I drafted Randy McMichael, and Heath Miller is sitting in free agency. Who will be a better fantasy starter this year?

I like heath miller this year, especially if they plan to open up the offensive playbook in Pitt. McMichael will be almost non-existant most weekends.

McMichael has more competition at his position and at others. There are at least 4 better pass catchers on STL, maybe more. I'd go with Heath.

While on the topic of Heath Miller, I just dropped Jason Witten for Heath Miller in my 12 team league, good or bad move?

I agree. Witten has been a disappointment compared to what many of us expected last year, but he's still better than Miller.

And McMichael...stick a fork in him. I have no idea why St Louis signed a good receiving TE to sit on the sidelines and occassionally come in for pass protection. :-S

Miller over McMichael, but not by much. Everyone's sour on McMichael because "the Rams never use their TE's" but as I've said before, who have the Rams even had to work with at TE? Exactly. No one. You can't tell me that McMike's not going to get wide freaking open with defenses fumbling over themselves to contain Holt and Steven Jackson, and you can beat Bulger's smart enough to hit a wide open TE plenty. I do not think McMichael will be a top 5 TE, but I don't think he'll be waiver wire material either.

I want to like Miller but after a very disappointing last season I'm not sure I can still draft him. I'd say him and McMichael are equal at this point. I don't think Randy is gonna be a big part of the Rams offense, they never have utilized the TE much and have loads of other talent. But, they wouldn't have signed him if they didn't feel he'd be of use. I think Miller's situation rests on the new HC. It really depends on the Steelers new passing style. I personally believe it'll be more WR oriented and Miller will get even less action.

I like McMichael. He thrived and had his best years under Linehan in Miami. Linehan loves him and I think will use him a lot.

6 vs. half a dozen. Witten has more talent in a more pass oriented offense (maybe not, but until seen otherwise he is), but Miller isn't bad, has less competition (nobody close to the talent of Fasano behind him), and less guys ahead of him in terms of passing options.
