First off, I don't draft according to "bye weeks". I even will ignore bye weeks most of the time, so that they don't have a negative impact on my draft plan. Anyway, by ignoring bye weeks, I've put myself into a pretty big hole for one week.
Week 8: Qb: McNabb - @ MIN WR: Harrison - @ CAR WR: Calvin Johnson - @ CHI WR: - RB: Addai - @ CAR RB: Caddy Williams - JAX TE: Shockey - @ MIA Bench: J. Delhomme - IND L. Fitz - BYE DJ. Hackett - BYE P. Crayton - BYE Edge James - BYE J. Jones - BYE Norwood - BYE
By week 8 there will be people you can or did grab off the waivers you can plug in. By week 8 my team is never identical to the team I drafted, which is why bye weeks are not that important in the grand scheme of things.
I've got a couple leagues where I have a ton of players on bye week 6, and I'm not too worried about it. If I lose that week, whatever, I have 12 other weeks to make up for it, and I'll have all of those players those weeks.
Kudos to Leber for the amazing sig and to Metroid for the userbar and making them both fit 2008 and 2009 Defunct Dynasty League Champion
Dont worry about Bye Weeks. I actually think it is bette rto have one horrible week with a bad team then always fielding a team that is only at 85-90%. One 40% and 13 100% is so much better.

You have McNabb, Addai, Wayne, and Shockey in your lineup for week 8, and you're acting like its unwinnable? I mean, yes you have no one on your current roster to fill that one spot, but you can find someone. If all you WRs and RBs pan out, by week 8, McNabb will be past his bye, making Delhomme expendable (or McNabb will be on IR, making room either way).
