are you sure you don't want to include nascar, tennis and golf?
He said sports. Sports are played by athletes which invalidates Nascar no matter how much ESPN, and its fans, want to pretend its a sport.

Nascar is a lot more physically demanding than many things people call sports. Sure you don't need to be on HGH to drive Nascar, but conditioning certainly counts as definite factor in many races.
Not even in the top 10. I will say I don't really like the guy but he is starting to grow on me a bit. HE does some very good commercials.
my 2 cents for biggest name in "sports"
Tiger Jordan Beckham Ronaldhino
North American sports just don't cut it on the world wide level. Jordan is the exception but basketball is massively popular on severalother continents as well, Europe and South America being the 2 that come to mind. Soccer is still the most popular sport in the world. NFL is just the best sport in the world.

Well, he has one of the biggest names in soccer, just not necessarily because of soccer. Especially in America.
Exactly, not the biggest talent in soccer but I can't think of a bigger name in soccer right now.
As for the Nascar drivers as atheletes. It is to me more of a skill then what the exact definition of athletics is but just read what the toll on a body is to drive at 200 mph for 500 miles is. THey are well consitioned skilled humans. If Nascar can't be considered in the area of athletics then neither can golf or several other so called sports.
