i'd just take the best players period. they are phenomenal athletes who have likely played both sides of the ball growing up, but have just been forced to play one position because that's the way it is, and not necessarily because they wouldn't be great at it.

O Rly? I didn't know that but it doesn't shock me. At the beginning of last year I read an article by the guy who invented the triple option saying he thinks NFL teams should pick up guys like Brad Smith, Pat White, etc., and implement specific option formations (using the option QB) in short-yardage situations. It's surprising that nobody has tried that yet, in my opinion.
it is very common for top high school RBS to be recruited and converted into LBs once they get to the collegiate level. the movements are very similar. I know that Ray Lewis was a very successful HS running back... not exactly what the post was asking but still interesting and i thought i would share.

Yeah, a lot of them were. I know that Ernie Sims was recruited to play HB or LB.
